In this hands on training, participants will learn how to safely and effectively work with pregnant clients. The stress of pregnancy often results in muscular discomfort and limitations to movement that can be severe. Many pregnant women find massage therapy to be a useful treatment and comforting experience during their pregnancy. There are potential risks to pregnancy massage which are a concern for the therapist and the client. This specialized workshop helps guide the therapist in providing therapeutic massage with care, caution, and compassion.

At the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• Perform a full body massage on a pregnant client.
• List criteria of a high risk pregnancy.
• List physiological effects of Swedish massage.
• List contraindications for Swedish massage.
• List contraindications for Pregnancy massage.
• Demonstrate strokes appropriate for an infant using dolls as models.
• Discuss issues relating to breast cancer and breast massage.

We will send you a confirmation in the mail.  If you are traveling by plane, please confirm the workshop with the school before buying your ticket.  Occasionally we do have to cancel workshops due to low enrollment.  If a workshop is cancelled for any reason our liability is limited to a return of the deposit paid.  If you cancel your participation in a workshop within 21 days of the workshop, there will be no refund if the deposit paid.  Cancelation earlier than 21 days before the workshop will incur a $25 processing fee.  The balance of your deposit will be refunded.
